Transportation

(Please note: during registration for the conference, there will be an opportunity to request transportation from the airport or bus station with a UW Graduate Student. We cannot guarantee we can provide this service and those who request transportation help will be notified before the conference if we are able to provide transportation help.) 

To fly directly to Madison, use Dane County Regional Airport. You can also fly to Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee (1.5hrs by car/2hrs by bus) or O’Hare Airport in Chicago (2.5hrs by car/3.5hrs by bus).

Bus You can take the bus (Madison Metro Transit System) at the airport, but you need to transfer; Take # 20 that runs every half an hour. Tranfer at North Transfer Point. Get specific direction here. The rate is $2. Ask for a transfer ticket from the bus driver.
Taxi ~$15 to the Pyle Center. You can call: Green Cab (608) 255-1234, Badger Cab at (608) 256-5566, Madison Taxi at (608) 255-8294 or Union Cab at (608) 242-2000. Ride sharing companies such as Uber also have a presence in Madison.

Transportation from Milwaukee (Mitchell Airport)

Bus Badger Buses can be taken directly at the airport. Look for the Badger Bus sign outside Exit Door #5. Click here for schedule. They charge $23.00 (online/one way), $25.00 (counter sale) or $ 30.00 (CASH at bus).

Transportation from Chicago (O’Hare Airport)

Bus You can take Van Galder bus at the Bus/Shuttle Center, located at Terminal 1, 2, 3 (domestic) as well as Terminal 5 (international). Click here for schedule. They charge $30.00 (one way) and $60.00 (round trip). You can call 1-800-747-0994, for any other questions.

Bus You can take Megabus. There are direct lines from Minneapolis and Chicago to Madison, which connects to many other cities in Chicago. Clean, efficient, and free wifi. Recommended.
